Welcome to my blog!

My super awesome husband gave me a super fabulous camera a few years back and I've been hopelessly obsessed and have driven my children crazy with, "look at Mommy" and "you can have a piece of candy if you let me take 5 pictures", ever since. Here are just a few of those moments I steel away from my uber cute kiddos, and a few more moments I occasionaly get to take of other people...to the relief of my family. I do love to practice on anyone who will let me, so if you would like your picture taken let me know!

Can I Hold the Baby?

They don't ask a lot, but when they do get to hold her they are so excited about it.

And then they lose interest quickly...

...so he hands her off.

Notice our triple round dimmer switches on the wall with the awesome black "marble" switch plate. That's right, retro! Oh, and the left one lights up orange when the front porch light is off. Thank goodness it lets us know or we might leave our guests standing out in the dark. And we took the door stop plate thing-a-ma-jig that was taped to the wall off and found a nice hole behind it. We'll have to fix that, but the dimmer switches and marble plate will definitely stay.

We Love Grandparents!

Grandma Susie came to visit! The kids totally adore her of course and were so sad to see her leave. She'll be back with Grandpa Kim next weekend though for Abby's baby blessing. Sad thing is, Jared was sick practically the entire time she was here, and right as she was leaving Madie got sick. Poor kids. And poor Grandma, she went home and got pneumonia. Super suck. Hopefully this next visit will be a lot healthier.

Madie was in a mood. Can you tell?

My Beautiful Babies

I like this one. I think I'm going to have to try this set up a few more times as Abby gets bigger.

Fresh Goodness

I learned to make trifle. I didn't have a trifle bowl at the time so it doesn't exactly look like trifle, but it sure tasted good.

Don't you love my 80's counters? It's the fake butcher block formica look. That's right, we're totally retro around here. When we replace the cabinets we're totally going to salvage it and use it again. That's right. Totally.

Nice Kids

My big kids are so good with my baby kid. They love her. And they're nice to her. I'm hoping the niceness lasts until she can run away from them.

This is Jared's look when he's posing for the camera. Funny.

And although it looks like Madie is about to take a big bite of Abby's head, it's just her dramatic wind-up for a kiss.

Color or Black and White?

So I decided the baby needed more pictures. And where did I take them? The couch, of course. I can never decide if I like color or black and white better.

Color?

Black and White?

Color?

The big ol' head on the little tiny body was getting a little heavy.

Black and White?

Color?

Black and White?

Hey, what's up?

Doesn't it totally look like she's politely trying to get someones attention?

Adorable in color.

Adorable in black and white.

If you can't decide...

...just use both.

Randomness

Trying to catch up on sleep while I can. Actually I thought I'd turn on the new Knight Rider series. I'll give you three guesses as to how I liked it.

More pics on the couch in the clown outfit I so love.

Madison loves to pose with her baby sister.

You can't tell here, but she's wearing a swim suite, a long sleeve shirt, a swim suite cover dress, a sun dress, and her butterfly dress. I guess she couldn't decide so she wore it all.

It was right at this age Abby was testing out her smile.

Happy Vanentine's Day!

...two and a half months too late. We made totally yummy sugar cookies with this awesome frosting recipe I got from my cousin Kerri. So good!

Sink Baths

This was Abby's first non-sponge bath at home. It's amazing how much skin sloughs off little new borns. Was that gross to say? If so, just pretend I didn't.

Little Monkeys

My babies are born pretty small so they have all this extra wrinkled skin. And they look like they're born with a tan so they're strangely darker than you'd expect for a little white baby. They have perfectly normal ears, but if you do this...

...they look kind of like monkeys! Cute adorable little monkeys who stay where you put them and don't swing from the chandelier.

Look how tiny she is compared to daddy's hands!

Baby Clown

Once again, trying for some cute tiny-little-baby pictures. But baby disagreed.
I loved that little outfit. Nathan said it looked like I was dressing her like clown, but I thought she was darned cute. Too bad she outgrew it so fast. I'm going to have to start dressing her in more poke-a-dots.

The Couch

I was looking back through my pictures and as I browsed I felt like they were trying hard to point out my lazy side. Apparently I'm too lazy to walk the 20 steps or less from the front room back to Abby's room to put her in the crib for a nap. I have a whole lot of pictures of her sleeping on the couch.

Bad Bloggers, Big Sisters, and Rare Sightings

Don't you hate it when you find a blog you like and you hop on your computer and pull up the blog and there's nothing new. So you try again the next day and there is still nothing new. And the next day, well, nothing. So you wait another week and yet again, nothing new. Especially when the blog might mean something to you, like on it might be pictures of your nieces and nephew or grandchildren that live far away. Ya, I hate bloggers like that.

This is Maddie. She is a big sister. And she loves it.

She helps out all the time. She burps the baby. She bounces her bouncer to keep her calm for me when she's fussy. She makes up all kinds of songs to sing to her and they're hilarious! She brings the baby toys that she's totally incapable of playing with yet, but it's still sweet. She's a very good big sister.

And that's a lot of "she's".

And being such a great big sister can be exhausting.

I went to check on her in bed one night before I hit the sack, but she wasn't there. And she wasn't on the floor with a pillow and blanket like she sometimes does. She wasn't anywhere in her room. And she wasn't in the bathroom, or Abby's room, or the front room or the hall and she wasn't in the kitchen sneaking into the fridge. Can you feel me starting to panic by now? So I ran to the back of the house again and peeked in my bedroom and there she was, fast asleep in my bed. This is not a common occurrence in our house. In fact, this slightly panic-ee incident brings the grand total to one. One very cute little girl fast asleep and hiding in plain sight.
